Method: Wrap hook with thread. Tie in tag at bend. Strip one side of selected hackle feather (part of its length) enough to wind forward to the just before the eye. Tie in the wire & the tip of the hackle. Wind the hackle forward to 4mm short of the eye & tie off. Wind the wire through the hackle being careful not to trap any of the fibres, about 3 or 4 winds & tie off. Tie in another hackle feather if required and make a more dense wrap for the wing, tie off and whip finish with a neat head. This fly is a great all round dry fly for fish feeding on beetles, jassids, black spinners, just about any time fish are rising. I also use it to blind search on streams.
