Trothodge

Trothodge

History of the Trothodge This fly was originally tied by Dick trotter and designed as a general beetle pattern it also took fish that were feeding on duns and spinners. Dick’s diary showed that he took over 1000 fish on this pattern. The name comes from the first four letters of Dicks sir name and the first four of his fishing companions sir name – TROTter – HODGman.

This would be the first fly that I would tie on in the summer months when the hoppers are on the wing .Cast to a rise or a fish that you have polarodid. It is also a very good searching pattern
